Grantsville Sun to SAF Facility Under Contract

Grantsville Sun to SAF Facility Under Contract

5E is moving forward on their Grantsville Sun to SAF facility. This will be the first facility of its kind in the state of Utah. This progress is thanks to initial investors that enabled the team to sign land contracts.

The site is located west of Salt Lake City at the Grantsville Industrial Park, adjacent to the new Port Authority Rail Transload site. It will use recycled waste initially bound for landfill from Salt Lake and Tooele Counties to produce sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) that will supply flights at Salt Lake International Airport. The facility will also produce Green Deisel.

“We’ve been working on this facility project for over a year, and it’s exciting to see things moving forward!” states Johnny Kraczek, CEO of 5E. “We’ll solve two problems with this one solution by reducing the amount of material sent to landfill as well as domestically producing our own SAF and Green Diesel using solar energy.”

The 5E engineering team will continue the front-end engineering. There are some additional investment opportunities in the funding stack being considered by potential funding partners.

Kraczek adds, “This is a great step forward for the state of Utah, the environment, and sustainability!”
